2024 - Real World CTF

Overview

πŸ† #1 at Real World CTF, πŸ₯‡ #1 on CTFtime (Global world ranking 2024) and πŸ’° $10,000 in winnings after our first meetup.

We had a lot of fun playing Real World CTF 2024 (Beijing Chaitin Technology Co., Ltd.) this weekend. #Kalmarunionen team met up at Γ…lborg Universitet in Copenhagen and online to tackle the first highly ranked CTF of the year: Real World CTF

The CTF is special because it focuses primarily on real software products and finding and exploiting n-days / 0-days (new software bugs) in real world software, all in the pressure cooker of doing so in 48 hours.

The challenges were, therefore, quite demanding, but as always, the team united and tackled them head-on, uncovering n-days and also identifying new 0-days. We are now reporting the findings we identified.

We are very happy with starting out the hacking season back at the top of CTFtime.org, and we hope to stay there all season long. We have a great team that still enjoys seeing each other and putting in the hard work - so we believe it bodes well for Kalmarunionen in 2024

Look forward to more from Kalmarunionen this year; we are #hacking, having fun, and hungry to improve even further. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘¨β€πŸ’»πŸ‘©β€πŸ’», We also hope more people will hone their #security skills and join us in the future (read how at kalmarunionen.dk).

A heartfelt shoutout πŸ™Œ to our sponsors - their support propels our meet-ups, learning initiatives, and participation in international hacking competitions. A massive thank you to: Industriens Fond, VENZO, JN Data, Dubex, ICSRange, CyberSkillsDK.

Again, a big thanks to Γ…lborg Universitet for hosting us, to Jens Myrup Pedersen for making it happen, and to Marc Tvermose Poulsen for taking really good care of us from start to finish when we arrived.
